Physical Rehabilitation Network is Hiring an Outpatient Hand Therapist (PT or OT) Near Boise, ID

Job Summary: 

PRN Physical Therapy is seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to join our team on an as-needed basis. As a CHT, you will be responsible for providing exceptional therapy services to patients with hand and upper extremity injuries or conditions. This role involves a high level of expertise in hand therapy, rehabilitation, and patient care. 

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' hand and upper extremity conditions. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on assessment findings.
  • Therapeutic Interventions: Administer specialized therapeutic interventions, including manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, splinting, and modalities to enhance patients' hand function and mobility.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, home programs, and preventive measures to improve and maintain hand health.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Continuing Education: Stay updated with advancements in hand therapy techniques, research, and best practices through continuous learning and professional development.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Mobility: Ability to stand, walk, and move within the therapy environment to assist patients as needed.
  • Manual Dexterity: Proficient use of hands and fingers to perform intricate therapeutic techniques and manipulations.
  • Lifting: Capability to lift and maneuver therapeutic equipment and assist patients with mobility as required, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision and Hearing: Adequate visual and auditory abilities to assess patients' conditions and communicate effectively.
  • Stamina: Endurance to handle a demanding workload and perform therapeutic activities throughout scheduled shifts. 

Qualifications: 

  • Certification: Current certification as a Hand Therapist (CHT) by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission.
  • Licensure: Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice.
  • Education: Minimum of a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Experience: At least two years of clinical experience in hand therapy, preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • Skills: Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning, and communication skills. Proficiency in utilizing therapy equipment and modalities.
