(Senior) Scientist, AI/ML Protein Design and Engineering Job summary: PharmaEssentia Innovation Research Center (PIRC) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced AI/ML-aided Protein and Antibody Engineer to join our Biologics Platform team and contribute to the development of first-in-class and best-in-class biotherapeutics, including cytokines, antibodies, and antibody-drug-conjugates. The successful candidate will contribute to building and managing the companys AI/ML-aided protein design and optimization capabilities. This position requires combined dry and wet lab activities and collaborations: in-depth knowledge and experience in computational protein design/modeling as well as hands-on involvement in molecular biology and antibody discovery. They will collaborate with other Biologics Platform team members on rational design and display library-based approaches to accelerate the discovery of novel antibody and bi- and tri-specific complex biologics modalities. Our new research center, PharmaEssentia Innovation Research Center (PIRC), will build upon our invention and discovery-based innovation efforts originally established in Taiwan that led to a transformative advancement for treating polycythemia vera (one of the myeloid proliferative neoplasms). At PIRC, we aim to expand our current expertise in related therapeutic areas and identify novel therapeutic approaches in early to mid-stage discovery and development. Data scientists will leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning to inform new target and indication selections. The company is also recruiting for talented scientists who have deep knowledge in immunology, translational science, bioinformatics and biologics platforms to develop novel drugs employing disease-driving biology, novel technology in protein engineering, antibody discovery and new modalities. Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Conceptualize, evaluate, and implement sequence and structural informatics, computational protein modeling, and AI-ML tools and integrate them to PIRC Biologics Discovery process.
Collaborate with Protein Sciences and Data Science teams and apply computational AI-ML methods for structure prediction, paratope/epitope analysis, in silico stability and developability assessment, and design of in vitro display library in support of oncology and immunology discovery programs.
Contribute to ongoing innovation within the company. Stay updated with the latest advancements in machine learning and computational protein design.
Contribute experimentally to molecule biology and protein sciences lab activities.
Analyze the data, interpret the results, and effectively communicate the results to project teams to advance the companys Biologics Platform and pipeline.

Essential Qualifications: PhD in Computational Protein Design, Structural Informatics, Protein Engineering, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years wet lab experience.

State-of-the-art expertise in Protein Design and Modeling using RoseTTAFold, ESMFold, AlphaFold, MOE, or Schrdinger.
Strong working knowledge of protein structure-function relationships, protein language model, and AI-ML methods for biologics design and engineering
Proficient in Python and NGS data analysis
Hands-on experience with molecule biology, antibody discovery, or structural biology.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in single B cell sorting and 10x Genomics discovery.
Experience with phage/yeast/mammalian display technologies.
