PGLS is Hiring a Deaf Interpreters, Deaf-Blind Interpreters, Tactile Interpreters and American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters (US-based) Near Arlington, VA

Piedmont Global Language Solutions (PGLS) offers language services consisting ofinterpretation, translation, transcription, language instruction, cultural sensitivity training, and localization.Our network of language professionals provides expertise in more than 200 languages, including regional dialects.
PGLS is looking for Deaf Interpreters, Deaf-Blind Interpreters, Tactile Interpreters and American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretersto provide on-site (OSI) and video remote (VRI) interpretation services to Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind customers.
These are “1099” (Independent Contractor) positions, on an as-needed basis.We are looking for:
- American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreters
- Deaf Interpreters
- Interpreters of Sign Languages other than ASL
- Deaf-Blind Interpreters
- Tactile Interpreters
- Interpreters who can provide oral transliteration

Requirements

Hold a valid driver’s license, or any government-issued valid form of identification
Ability to commute to assigned location
Based in the above mentioned area

Minimum Qualifications:

• Interpreting experience, paid or as a volunteer
• Two (2) relevant professional references that can vouch for candidate’s work as an interpreter OR one (1) relevant professional reference and one (1) relevant professional letter of recommendation
• Proficiency in English and target language.

Desired but not required:

Certifications from recognized organizations (RID, NIC, NAD, BEI, etc.)

If available, interpreters should provide proof of:

• Certifications

• Test results from other organizations (testing centers, other LSPs, etc.).
