We are looking for an experienced Project Manager for commercial steel fabrication projects, preferably with miscellaneous metals and/or structural steel, to join our team at Jarco Steel, Inc.

The person who fills this role will be responsible for providing overall project management for structural and / or miscellaneous construction jobs by establishing project objectives, providing a management plan, and working as a liaison with contractor and/or other subcontractors and vendors. This role will manage and monitor Jarco’s subcontract for construction including all technical and financial matters.

Applicants must be proficient with reading of shop and erection drawings. Must have excellent communication skills, the ability to work with internal and external customers as well as strong computer skills.

Position Summary

• Manage all assigned steel erection/fabrication projects to ensure they are completed profitably and with a high client satisfaction level.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the entire scope of work, including plans, specifications, logistics, materials, equipment, submittal and other requirements.
• Coordinate subcontractors and manage on-site production.
• Provide input to, review and modify project schedules as necessary for the duration of the project.
• Complete updates and provide weekly reports of financial, schedule and project scope / delivery.
• Assist in purchasing Buy Out items for projects.
• Regularly meet with clients and the operations teams to ensure projects are progressing smoothly.
• Participate in jobsite meetings when required.
• Identify problems and recommend solutions for review and implementation.

• Interact professionally with clients, partners, and vendors in order to develop rapport and properly service their needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of construction job-site management.
• Considerable knowledge of the fabrication & construction industries.
• Strong organizational skills including the ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Excellent communication skills with various parties including management, subcontractors, consultants, architects, vendors, and clients.
• Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on objectives, risks, implications, and costs.
• Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse personalities.
• Minimum five years of successful construction/fabrication project management experience with commercial/industrial projects.
• Experience in estimating, scheduling, quality control, and problem solving.
• Experience with Bluebeam or similar software.
