**Retail Sales Associate, Optical**
at Nationwide Vision Glendale Customer service is the primary responsibility of this position: answering all incoming calls, scheduling patients for doctors appointments, being open and honest in communication and maintaining a friendly, pleasant demeanor with customers at all times. Provides support to customers in: making eyeglass adjustments, taking measurements, reading prescriptions on the lensometer, timely notification of product readiness, proper handling of all money related transactions, and completing paperwork necessary to place and process orders. Listening and responding immediately with appropriate level of concern to all customers' needs. Processing and verifying all third party insurance payment information. This position will have access to patient information therefore a high degree of discretion and adhering to all privacy and confidential/propriety company policies and procedures is required (i.e. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, known as HIPAA). Ensures work station/Optical Store is maintained and clean at all times. This position will assist with store opening and closing procedures at the end of the shift. **Summary**
This Optical Sales Associate assists in the daily sale of optical wear to customers, including fitting and repair of eyewear. This position serves as the liaison between our customers and the lab to ensure that orders are processed in timely.

**Education and Experience**
1-year experience working in a retail store. Prior sales experience preferred. Prior optical experience is a plus. High school diploma or GED equivalent. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service skills required for this position. Must be able to prioritize. Flexible schedule required, including the ability to work weekends and evenings.
Ability to work as a team member. Must have strong sense of fashion and trends. Must be able to stand/walk/sit for increments of 4 hours or more.
**Work Environment**
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopier, filing cabinets and fax machines.
