We are looking for a Fire Extinguisher Shop Lead to join our team!

Hourly pay range: $26-34/hour depending on applicable skills and experience.

Work shift: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

The Fire Extinguisher Shop Lead is responsible for day-to-day work and activities to meet company quality and performance objectives by performing the following duties.

In this role you will:

• Oversee all fire shop related activities to ensure successful outcomes and ensure the fire shop is operating in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Responsible for the discharge, hydrotest, document and recharge fire extinguisher cylinders per Department of Transportation (DOT), State, and Manufacturer requirements
• Prepare reports and records on calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities of shop equipment per DOT, State, and Manufacturer requirements
• Oversee the maintenance and repair all types of fire extinguishers and system cylinders; requires a working knowledge of NFPA 10, 17 and 17A, CFR 49
• Plan and maintain flow of work in the department accommodating priority items
• Communicate with technicians regarding workload, timelines, and priorities
• Maintain DOT required records to include training and manifests for the shop
• Collaborate with General Manager to ensure shop staffing is aligned with required output

Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous Fire Extinguisher Shop or Technician experience preferred
• Ability to pass DOT required testing for HazMat and function specific training
• ICC/NAFED Fire Extinguishers Certification
• FEX-1 Extinguishers
• Forklift certification preferred
• Must have the ability to obtain any and all certifications required within 90 days of hire.

• Warehouse climate with variable temperatures; dusty
