Responsibilities What you get to do every day: * The Systems Engineer shall perform detailed system engineering and will be directly involved in various system design and requirements generation/maintenance of legacy and emerging DoD software and hardware baselines.
* Responsible for working with a highly functional team developing, integrating, testing, and deploying custom solutions to the client's hardware baselines and maintaining legacy and new versions of the system and its sub-systems.
* Other responsibilities will include working with the team, including integrators, to define system requirements and effort estimates related to satisfying said requirements.
* Plans and performs engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with design, engineering, and customer specifications * Responsible for major technical/engineering projects of high complexity and importance * Coordinates the activities of engineers assigned to specific engineering projects; and may perform other duties as assigned * Assess and manage systems level requirements, develop operational systems concepts, originating design concepts or performing systems level integration and test for highly complex systems * Review architecture designs and plans and provide actionable feedback to stakeholders and team personnel * Interacts with system users to translate their requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design * Contribute to the Planning and Requirements phases of the development life cycle * Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications * Solves engineering problems in the functional area to which assigned * Recommend changes to improve established application processes * Provide technical support and consultation for systems engineering questions * Produce white papers and briefings as required Qualifications Clearance: Active TS/SCI clearance and eligibility for a CI poly * *This position is not open for any clearance upgrades or sponsorship.** Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or other business-related field, and 5 years of experience in a related discipline Required Skills: * Strong understanding of systems architectures, system design, employment of systems and dependent sub-systems, systems administration, and system networking
* Experience with SQL and NoSQL data stores
* Demonstrated ability to creatively solve technical problems
* Background in requirements analysis, design, and coding methodologies, DoD software policies; and DoD test and evaluation requirements
* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a small team
