Our client in Springfield, PA is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Purchasing Agent .
This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain additional experience in the field of purchasing and international trade in a fast-paced office environment.
Purchasing Agent Job Details:
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 730am-4pm
- Pay Rate: $24-$26.44/HR
- Room for growth
- Identify and source products domestically in the most cost-effective way possible for servicing heavy industry worldwide
- Provide quotes to end-users as quickly and competitively as possible, preferably within 24 hours, but always be mindful of bid close dates
- Buy efficiently from the correct source and maintain positive relationships with suppliers
- Place Purchase Orders with local suppliers and monitor the status of each order
- Monitor freight by air or sea and keep clients updated with status reports
- Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and agreements with suppliers
- University Degree preferred (or) equal job experience
- 1-2 years of purchasing experience
- Purchasing background with an understanding of quoting, purchase order processing, & client interactions
- High attention to detail and procedures
- Product experience or technical knowledge of the industrial market would be useful
