Job Summary

What you’ll do: We have an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator who will provide maintenance and operational support of all Windows Server-based and Linux systems within Aqua America’s Information Services group spanning Virtualization & Storage Engineering, Cloud Engineering & Online Services and Water Operations Technology & Infrastructure Support. The Systems Administrator will support project work and assist with design, build and automation of critical infrastructure systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for architecture related to Windows Server including – Active Directory/Group Policy, DNS DHCP, back-end virtualization, operating systems, email/collaboration, Storage Area Network (SAN), patching in concert with InfoSec, anti-virus, and backup technologies.

What you’ll love:You will collaborate with engineers to design and build technology solutions and architecture to support Aqua’s technical and business project portfolio. This includes creating appropriate documentation for operational handover to support teams.Ours is a fast-paced collaborative environment which presents an opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects right across the infrastructure stack. Your flexibility will support your own growth and position you for further opportunitiesWe have a clear roadmap building new platforms to serve the requirements of the distributed business and you will be empowered to deliver against key initiatives e.g., developing the Citrix platform strengthening our DR and high-availability networks. Given the capital heavy nature of Aqua projects, you will apply your SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) applications experience to the real-time high-level supervision of machines and processes across multiple locations.

Basic Qualifications

What we want to see in you: • At least 5 years Information Technology field related experience with a strong knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.• Experience in business-critical system design to include Business Continuity / DR planning, testing and execution as well as application upgrades. • Demonstrable experience with virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Citrix).• MCSE/MCSA certifications and experience with Microsoft 365 preferred.• PowerShell scripting and Linux/UNIX experience is preferred, VCP certification is a plus. • Experience in designing solutions/artifacts to fulfil Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance. • Open to participating in the ‘on-call manager’ 24/7 program to support operations and customers. • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology / Computer Science or demonstrated related experience.

Essential Utilities and its subsidiaries, including Aqua, Delta, and Peoples Natural Gas, requires new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, where allowable under the law. To satisfy this requirement, new hires who received the one shot regimen of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine must receive the one dose shot prior to their first day of employment. Proof of vaccination must be provided on your first day of employment. For the two shot regimen of either Pfizer or Moderna, a new hire must have received at least one dose of the vaccine before their first day of employment. Proof of the second dose date must be received within the recommended timeline based on the manufacturer’s vaccine received. For example, for Moderna as soon as the 28 day period has elapsed and for Pfizer as soon as the 21 day period has elapsed. Failure to provide proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will result in the termination of your employment with Essential Utilities including its subsidiaries Aqua, Delta and Peoples Natural Gas.

If you are unable to be fully vaccinated due to a medical or religious exemption, you will be required to apply for an exemption on your first day of employment with Essential Utilities. As part of the process, you will be required to provide information and/or documentation to Human Resources about the reason(s) you cannot be vaccinated. If your request for an exemption is not approved, then your employment may be terminated.
