Darling Ingredients is looking for a Fleet Mechanic to join our Des Moines, IA team. This is a pivotal role where you will be responsible for repairing company fleet to meet DOT standards and to be dependable on public highways and performing preventative maintenance service on company fleet to minimize down time.

Minimum requirements:

• At least 2 years of automotive or tractor/trailer mechanical experience.
• At least 1 year of electrical troubleshooting experience
• Your own basic tools.

Preferred qualifications:

• CDL license is highly preferred, but not required. Darling will reimburse CDL training for the right candidate!

Essential duties/responsibilities:

• Performs all preventive maintenance and repair work necessary on fleet vehicles.
• Reviews driver vehicle inspection reports.
• Responsible for being familiar with and observing all company safety rules and regulations; recognizes that safety is top company priority; attends regularly scheduled safety meetings.
• Must have a good understanding of hydraulic systems.
• Sweeps, cleans, organizes shop using 5S principles.
• Maybe required to answer roadside calls for disabled vehicles.
• All other duties as assigned.
