THE COLLEGE
Located in the northwest corner of the United States, Peninsula College is nestled in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains.
The main campus in Port Angeles, Washington, overlooks the Strait of Juan de Fuca and the nearby city of Victoria, British Columbia, and has easy access to the Pacific Ocean, Olympic National Park, and Seattle.
Port Angeles is two hours from Seattle and a one-hour ferry ride to Victoria, Canada. The College is honored to serve six sovereign American Indian nations in the region : Jamestown S'Klallam, Lower Elwha Klallam, Quileute, Makah, Hoh, and Port Gamble S'Klallam.
The College is honored to have strong relationships with these six federally recognized Tribes in the College's service district.
The College is home to Longhouse of Learning. It is the first Longhouse in the nation to be built on a community College campus.
The College offers transferable Indigenous language courses in Klallam / S'Klallam, Makah and Quileute and Hoh languages.
Instructional programs include a Tribal Homeland Security & Emergency Management certificate and an Integrated Indigenous Studies transfer pathway.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Capital Planning and Maintenance provides leadership for all activities involved in planning, developing, operating, and maintaining buildings used across multiple campuses.
The position is also responsible for the overall leadership and management of the College's capital projects planning and project management in cooperation with the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) and the Department of Enterprise Services (DES) staff.
Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for establishing a comprehensive space planning program to ensure effective utilization of campus facilities consistent with the concept of quality for the intended use.
The Director will prepare a variety of planning, space utilization, and project reports to inform senior leadership and campus constituencies regarding the need for facility replacement, renovation, or repairs, and to support related decisions to best position the College's physical assets to meet future programmatic needs.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Position reports to : Vice President for Finance and Administration
Position supervises : Four Maintenance Mechanics
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Plan, manage and supervise all aspects of capital project management; including timeline creation, milestone completions, and stakeholder notification;
coordinate and recommend plans for major and minor capital projects submitted to the SBCTC for funding.
Coordinate all capital projects with the DES including completion, submission and record-keeping of all pertinent files, records, paperwork, design drawings, etc.

Required Competencies : Knowledge, skills and abilities :

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, business management, project management or other related field from an institutionally accredited college or university.
Equivalent education, certification or experience may be substituted for the degree.
Required Physical Abilities
Work at heights, move and relocate objects up to 60 pounds, work in adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, and ice.
Position may require the ability to perform heavy, outside work in inclement weather when needed.
Work schedule and environment
Summer schedule may vary to four 10-hour days.
