Description
SUMMARY inventories, stores, and distributes hand tools and other equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following for associates. Other duties may be assigned.
- Inventory, order, and maintain adequate supplies of welding consumables
- Maintains tool functionality, calibration specifications, and safe condition by performing frequent inspections of tools and equipment for wear, defects, or damage
- Keeps an inventory of tools by tracking the distribution of tools and users in a database or other system
- Orders new tools and equipment or request repairs as needed
- Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly
- Issue NAVSEA weld wire per procedure
- All other duties as assigned
- Has training and experience in an industrial environment with familiarity of fabrication and tools
- Minimum of three years of welding experience preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment successfully
- Must perform tasks safely as instructed orally and in written format
- Ability to read and speak English
- Must have knowledge of the metric system
- Ability to maneuver up to 200 lbs. independently
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without assistance
- Ability to read measuring taps and calipers
