Pearland ISD is Hiring an Aide PEARS #3735 Near Pearland, TX
Primary PurposeAssist the special education teacher in the preparation and management of classroom activities and administrative requirements to provide for the physical and instructional needs of students with disabilities in a special education setting. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, including self-help, behavior management, data collection, and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the principal and the immediate direction of a certified teacher.
QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate (Can be obtained once hired)
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Knowledge of general office and technology equipment
ExperienceTwo years of experience working with children
Working ConditionsMental Demands:Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
Physical Demands/Environmental FactorsFrequent light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); Occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds or over) and positioning or students with physical disabilities, controlling behavior through physical restraint, assisting nonambulatory students, and lifting and moving adaptive and other classroom equipment
Work inside and outside (exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); exposure to noise; exposure to biological hazards (bacteria, communicable diseases)
Pay Rate: Min. $13.21; Mid. $15.83

QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or GED
Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate (Can be obtained once hired)
- Must have completed at least two (2) years of study at an institution of higher education; or
- Obtained and associate’s (or higher) degree; or
- Met a rigorous standard of quality demonstrated through a formal state or local academic assessment.
