In this role, you will support the provision of virtual servers and other systems to developers and software testers as part of a meaningful government program that contributes to the greater human good. The ideal candidate will have had some experience providing customer IT support with knowledge of server (using Linux and/or Windows platforms), network, and storage technologies. Work is performed in Arlington, VA in a collaborative work environment.
Responsibilities:

• Monitor, review, and report on the maintenance and operation of server hardware and software (COTS and GOTS) at contractor facilities
• Administration of VMWare vSphere ESXi and vCenter for building Linux or Windows servers
• Administration of VMWare hosts and provisioning of VM guests
• Management of the network including network planning, implementation, and configuration
• Administration of storage infrastructure system including capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, security management etc.
• Perform routine system configuration changes and upgrades through formal change requests (CRs)
• Perform backups of non-production systems and ensure restore processes are functional
• Support, maintenance, patching, and upgrades of existing servers
• Troubleshoot and resolve environment issues reported by developers, software testers or system-generated alerts
• Administration of users/groups/privileges within Active Directory
• Ensure all systems, processes, and equipment at Government facilities comply with all regulations and policies.

Education and Experience:

• 2-year technical degree such as Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Engineering or a related field desired
• Minimum of 2 years' hands-on server system administration experience

Required Skills, Competencies and Clearance:

• Experience with Linux and/or Windows server administration required
• Experience in VMware administration required
• Active Directory experience required
• Experience with troubleshooting user issues required
• Experience with NetApp storage device a plus
• Proactive approach to problem solving
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong documentation, diagramming, and reporting skills
• Experience with networking equipment including routers, firewalls, and switches a plus
• Scripting and automation a plus: shell scripts (bash), Ansible, Puppet
• Certifications desired, i.e., Network , Security
• U.S. Citizenship
• Active Department of Defense Secret security clearance required
