Description

Outside In is seeking a full-time Medical Director to oversee Outside Ins clinical operations; we are a Federally Qualified Health Center serving houseless and underserved communities. This position serves to support primary care providers and other clinical staff in delivering outstanding outpatient services to our patient population.

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE exempt, non-represented position with a starting salary range of $187,616 to $219,481 annually. What you will do:

  • Implement evidence-based protocols and guidelines to ensure the delivery of excellent standards of care.
  • Provide brief clinical consultation and clinical teaching while modeling exemplary clinical practice.
  • Support the Agencys overdose prevention and response program and signs off on standing orders for the syringe exchange program.
  • Support development of a population and team-based approach to health care with emphasis on collaboration and shared accountability for excellent patient outcomes.
  • Oversee clinical components of Transgender Care, East Clinic, School Based Health Care, Mobile services, Integrated Behavioral Health Services and other innovations to address client needs.
  • Lead and manage staff ensuring engagement to meet organizational and department goals and objectives.
  • Support and participates in Quality Assurance/Process Improvement activities. Works in close collaboration with staff assigned to quality efforts.

Skills

  • Expert-level knowledge of pharmacology and medical/clinical decision-making.
  • Excellent consultation skills, including the ability to provide curbside consultation, as well as complex technical medical and psychotherapeutic advice to colleagues of various medical and counseling disciplines.
  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary approach to physical and mental health and chemical dependency, including Medication Assisted Treatment.
  • Experience in gender-affirming care and providing care to non-binary and transgender patients.
  • Knowledge, training, skills and/or experience in providing and supervising services in a highly diverse work environment to a highly diverse and vulnerable population.
  • Knowledge of public/health administration, budgeting, personnel, contracts, laws and regulations, requirements and best practices.
  • Openness to change and willing to lead change within the organization.
  • Ability to handle administration of multiple program sites assuring efficiency in service delivery and program communication.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to display non-judgmental attitude.
  • Ability to keep accurate and appropriate records/documentation.
  • Skilled at working with staff across programs and implementing agency-wide policies, procedures, and best practices on clinic team.
  • Knowledge of patient bill of rights, data privacy, record protection, HIPAA and 42CFR Part 2 regulations and record retention policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Oregon licensure and board certification as Primary Care Provider (MD, DO)
  • Board certified if applicable.
  • Must have full prescriptive powers in Oregon with a DEA number.
  • Must meet Outside In privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
  • Experience in direct service administration of primary care programs.
  • Five years experience providing direct care as a medical provider.
  • Experience working on FQHC setting highly desirable.
  • Experience in clinical leadership highly desirable.
  • Current CPR certification or able to obtain (onsite) within one month.
  • Must pass a background check.
