Outreach Community Health Centers is Hiring a Part-Time Public Safety Officer Near Milwaukee, WI

JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under general supervision, the Public Safety Officer protects employees, patients, visitors, medical staff, physical plant and equipment, controls traffic inside and outside buildings and performs related public safety duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures that all policies are enforced. Also, to provide for continued safety and security of the Clinics.
  • Effectively consults with all departments on design and use of safety equipment and security measures.
  • Ensures that the security needs of the clinics are properly addressed and responded to. Identifies potential safety concerns and effectively recommends corrective or preventative measures.
  • Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Supports an environment conducive to the development and enhancement of working relationships.
  • Facilitates the department/clinic ability to meet its goal and objectives.
  • Responsive to the needs of the department by accepting additional assignments and/or assisting others to ensure the continuity of services.
  • Effectively uses work time to accomplish assignments within expected time frames.
  • Ability to accept or respond to change in a manner that promotes and supports departmental/clinic goals and objectives.
  • Knowledgeable of and follows safety/infection control policies and other procedures to ensure a safe environment for self and others.
  • Addresses potential safety concerns related to equipment and the working environment.

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS

  • 8AM to 4:30PM
  • Monday through Friday

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); in addition, one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Requires a valid WI driver’s license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to prepare reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate with clients and other employees of the organization.

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
