We are seeking Professional, High Energy Medical Assistants to help us provide excellent quality of care to our patients.Company description : Aspire Dermatology, with ten conveniently located offices throughout Rhode Island, is a highly professional provider of a full range of dermatology services from skin screenings and cosmetic procedures to Mohs surgery. The Medical Assistant is a multi-functional role, providing clinical and other administrative duties to ensure excellent quality of care to patients while reporting to the Office Supervisor.Hours : Full Time, 40 hours, Monday -- Friday 8:00 am -- 5:00 pm (or similar hours, must be flexible)Pay rate range:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on education, certifications, and experience.Responsibilities of the Medical Assistant:Assist with daily task such as verifying patient information, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit utilizing an iPad, data entry into EMR during patient visits, answering phones, confirming insurance information, scheduling appointments, etc.Assist with preparing patient for exams and procedures, preparing equipment & instruments by using proper sterilization techniques, and providing education to patients on pre- and post-operative care instructionsCleaning and sanitizing rooms, equipment and instruments as neededMaintaining inventory and supplies for clinical areasAnswer triage and routine phone calls from patients, pharmacies and referring providersMaintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA complianceUnderstanding demographics, insurance verification, prior authorization & referrals, collecting deductibles, co-pays & co-insurance, balancing cash drawer and reconcile end of dayEntering lab results, calling patients, and answering patient calls regarding medications prior authorizations and lab results using EMR softwareMust be able to apply skills interchangeably to all areas of medical practice and be able to work with various computer programs effectively and efficiently, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, and Firefox/ChromeMust be commutable to all Aspire offices as needed, and participate in a minimum of a four office rotation.Qualifications of the Medical Assistant:Graduate of Medical Assisting Program, Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA) OR: 1 years' experience as a Medical AssistantKnowledge of Medical Terminology/Anatomy preferredCPT/ICD 10 codingInfluenza and COVID19 vaccinations are mandatoryStrong computer and customer service skillsAbility to type 40 WPM while remaining proficient in spelling and grammar as a typing test will be givenReliable transportation is a mustAttention to detail and ability to utilize skills interchangeably to all areas of medical practiceAbility to understand and apply policies, procedures and protocolsAbility to interact with patients, providers, supervisors and peers in a professional mannerAbility to react calmly and effectively in emergency situationsScrubs will be provided.Benefits available to the Medical Assistant:401(k)Health insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceAD&D insurancePaid time offEmployee assistance programEmployee discountOpportunities for advancementOn-the-job trainingFor more information about our practice, please visit us at www.aspiredermatology.com
