- ADJUNCT

A college professor should have excellent verbal and communication skills; they should have a high level of knowledge and be well organized. Good personality traits for college professors include a high level of enthusiasm, self-confidence and the willingness to mentor students.

Oral Roberts University invites applications for part-time adjunct faculty positions to teach early childhood courses in the College of Education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Teaching Undergraduate Courses in Education:

• Early Childhood Course Offerings:
  • ECE 201 DAP in ECE
  • ECE 202 Infant & Toddler Development
• Teach curriculum aligned with InT ASC, NAEYC, and ORU standards and early childhood best practices according to the DAP model
• Teach through in-person instruction
• Assist students in achieving course objectives and learning outcomes
• Provide consistent and quality feedback to students
• Engage students in the learning process through hands-on and inquiry-based teaching methods
• Maintain an accurate and current grade book
• Communicate with students regularly through Brightspace
• Collaborate with full-time faculty to ensure cohesion across the early childhood program
• PED 465, 475 Student Teaching Fall/Spring
• Oversee early childhood pre-clinical and clinical assignments

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Minimum requirement:

• Hold a Master's degree in the early childhood field
• Experience teaching preschool through third grade (minimum of three years required)
• Experience using Brightspace or other LMS

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Strong pedagogical content knowledge and skills
• Supervision skills of internship candidates
• Knowledge of integration of technology skills during classroom teaching
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and database software programs required
• Demonstrate excellence in teaching
• Show commitment to integrating coursework into the learning process
