Job Summary & Responsibilities Position Purpose: Responsible for leading, developing, and coaching a high-performance 2nd shift (12 pm - 8:30 pm) work team within manufacturing operations. This position will have responsibility for the safety, cost, quality, delivery, and productivity for the Integration assembly team, Sub Assembly team, and warehouse staff necessary to meet customer expectations and company objectives. This position will work closely with multiple functional areas, Supply Chain, Manufacturing Engineering, and design engineers, to optimize materials flows, equipment fabrication, and manpower within the area to meet or exceed daily business objectives. The leader in this position must drive continuous improvement and remove waste from the assembly and material flows within the manufacturing process. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities · Develops, coordinates, leads, and executes daily production plans to assure smooth workflow; assigns, monitors and reviews the progress, accuracy, and quality of assigned work. In addition, oversees the achievement of company goals, including driving compliance to business requirements, such as reporting time and attendance, safety, audits, etc. · Ability to adapt and succeed in a dynamic environment with ever-changing customer requirements. · Report performance and analyze data to identify potential problems and issues: Assume ownership of the problem-solving process and develop sound plans and corrective actions to ensure adherence to quality standards, delivery schedules, cost performance, and safe working conditions. · Responsible for defining and clearly communicating Team customer and supplier expectations, and service level of Team to meet internal and external customer needs. · Responsible for communicating production status, part shortages, interruptions, delays, and stoppages encountered to internal customers and manufacturing leadership. · Work closely with inventory planning and purchasing to ensure adequate supply of the right materials in the right place at the right time for Team success. · Collaborate with various Project Managers, Planning, Engineering and Quality Assurance personnel to ensure timely on-time shipments of multiple product lines to our valued customers. · Develop and implement sound process controls; confirm routine quality and Team Leader checks and ensure all processes and procedures are executed using controlled methods and in accordance with work instructions. · Ensure consistent and effective area-to-area coordination. · Provide leadership and coaching that foster high team morale and effectiveness. · Develop and cross-train team members to support operational plans; ensure training plans are effective and documented. · Participate in tactical planning process. · Lead and/or facilitate continuous improvement efforts and projects and incorporate continuous improvement into the daily operations. · Create and maintain an environment where team members recommend and implement changes in procedures to improve value-added activities and eliminate non-value-added activities. · Maintain neat and clean work areas and ensure compliance with safety and 5S standards; ensure a safe work environment for all employees. · Conducts performance evaluations and provides input to management regarding individual team member performance; recommends salary adjustments; recommends, schedules, and approves overtime; takes disciplinary action, as necessary; handles unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refers the inquiry/situation to the appropriate individual. · Develops and prepares procedures for use within the company when required, and prepares Engineering Change Notices and Requests, work instructions, and other documentation when required. · Works regularly in a Class 100/1,000/10,000 cleanroom environment. · Meet goals and metrics that include Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity Qualifications Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university highly desired; Associate degree (A.S.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school may be acceptable when combined with a minimum of two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Lean Manufacturing knowledge desired Knowledge or know-how required: Must be able to effectively flow down goals from Manager into measurable tasks to subordinate levels. Must be able to provide effective coaching and mentoring to develop a high performing work team. Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Systems. Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills. Must have an innate desire to learn and continually improve.
