MD Licensed Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Both on-site and remote tele-med flexibility is available. No hourly weekly requirement. Able to Create your own custom schedule

Duties

1. Personal stability, flexibility, energy and commitment to working with consumers with mental health challenges in role.

2. Provides nurse practitioner services as scheduled to assigned caseload including assessment and prescription of medications.

3. Contract position.

4. Performs psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management of clients.

5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

6. Formal training as a nurse practitioner with license and insurability in the state of Maryland.

7. Demonstrated ability to work with professional and non-professional colleagues effectively

9. Appreciation of psychosocial rehabilitation concepts and experience with the public mental health population including crisis intervention, best practices in symptom management, and current medications.

10. Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, including clinical and clerical staff.

11. Ensure that clinic report writing and documentation is timely, accurate, and reflects a high professional standard.

12. Assist in the recruitment, choice, and development of staff under clinical supervision.

13. Share responsibility with Clinic Director and other senior staff for the cost-effective operation of the clinic; make suggestions as needed; provide all necessary data for billing.

Qualifications:

· Licensed to practice as a PMHNP or PA-C within the State of Maryland.

· Board Certified Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program (with concentration/focus Psychiatry & Mental/Behavioral Health.

· Ability to prescribe psychotropic medications in Maryland.

· Strong clinical skills and ability to work independently
