Oldcastle Building Envelope is Hiring a Safety Specialist (CRL) Near Vernon, CA

Salary Range: $57,600.00 to $80,600.00

About the Position:

The Safety Coordinator supports and assists in promoting a safe and environmentally sound culture. The individual will lead the facility safety compliance efforts and keeps abreast of relevant health, safety and environmental policies, laws, regulations, and codes. The Safety Coordinator provides guidance to staff and management regarding safe work practices and recommends corrective action and preventive measures as required order to maintain a safe environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of workplace to identify hazards, assess risks, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Coordinate safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientation, ongoing safety training, and specialized training for specific job tasks or hazards.
  • Assist in the investigation of workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes and develop recommendation for preventative measures.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to safety training, inspections, incidents, and corrective actions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including management, supervisors, and frontline employees, to promote a culture of safety and accountability throughout the organization.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends in workplace safety, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a resource and point of contact for employees regarding safety-related concerns, questions, or suggestion.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Must be able to complete various activities in the warehouse that may require hours of lifting, standing, and carrying.

 Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, environmental science, or a related field.
  • 3-4 years of experience in occupational health and safety, preferably in a warehouse, manufacturing, or industrial setting.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards, such as OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, and EPA.
  • Industrial Powered Truck Operator/Train the Trainer Experience.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate safety concepts and procedures to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
