Job Summary

The Assembly Operator is primarily responsible for the building of connectors and cable assemblies by performing simple to complex repetitive assembly, terminating, molding, testing and packaging operations. 

This position is full-time, on-site in our Painesville, Ohio manufacturing facility. Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm with opportunities for overtime. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Read and interpret schematic drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, or reports to determine assembly instructions.
  • Perform repetitive assembly, terminating, molding, testing and packaging operations to produce connectors and cable assemblies that meet specification of schematics, blueprints, or work instructions. 
  • Maintain defined quality standards.
  • Test and inspect product to ensure specifications are met.
  • Report any deficiency to the appropriate leadership.
  • Follow department processes to ensure ISO compliance.
  • Record time spent on each job and other production information as necessary.
  • Maintain safe, clean and orderly work area.
  • Attend and participate in all required trainings and departmental meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Required Education/Skills 

  • High School Diploma, GED or High School Equivalence Certificate desired.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical blueprints, production/assembly instructions, parts lists, verbal instruction and notes to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components. 
  • Ability to use small hand tools including but not limited to cutters, strippers, crimpers and screwdrivers.
  • Ability to use basic judgment in quality analysis and communicate any discrepancies to appropriate leadership.
  • Ability to adhere to all company policies and safety regulations including attendance requirements.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to assemble units of moderate complexity in a team environment.
  • Soldering skills desired.
