With our Agency's mission to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses, we provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.
This position is located at the Department of Mental Health and worked within the Division of Inpatient Services.
As the Supply Specialist II, working under general supervision of Supply Manager I, you will assist with managing property control of Inpatient Services/BPH/Materials Management. During procurement of new medical equipment and office furniture, you will assist with inventory and disposal of agency surplus property.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assists with distribution and storage duties to maintain administrative and patient care facilities and support services departments for three (3) campuses at the Northeast location.
  • Moves furniture and medical equipment daily as needed.
  • Assists with arrangement for repair of furniture; pick-up, move and deliver equipment and furniture items as needed; set-up and delivery of tables and chairs requested for meetings and special events.
  • Assists with monthly equipment movement to ensure all decaled equipment is accounted for (receiving instructions for follow through) and assist with the annual inventory of major moveable equipment for Inpatient Services assigned facilities.
  • Disposes of obsolete furniture and equipment-assists with disposal of serviceable and unserviceable Inpatient Services surplus equipment and furniture surveyed by state surplus representatives. Follow instructions to salvage Inpatient Services equipment and furniture in accordance with state policies and procedures.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum Requiremen t : A high school diploma.
Agency Minimum Requirement: A valid South Carolina driver's license.

The selected candidate must maintain confidentiality in patient, employee and departmental information. Ability to stand, walk, reach, pull, push, bend and climb stairs, move from one area/building to another and lift up to 50lbs. Must possess a valid South Carolina Driver's License. May be required to work additional hours in support of patient care and staff during emergencies and hazardous weather conditions.
