Under the lead of the Project Manager and as part of the global project team, the role transforms customer needs into final products through engineering design and analysis, prototyping, testing, and production development with the ultimate goal to deliver innovative products and solutions to our global customers. Essential Functions:
Running feasibility studies and initiates and support related prototype manufacturing
Planning and initiating verification activities together with Test Center.
Supporting the group by in life management activities.
Design and develop new mechanical or electro-mechanical hand tools while meeting quality, cost, and time deliverables
Run feasibility studies and manufacture and test prototypes
Carry out engineering analysis for new and existing designs, including FEA, tolerance analysis, and stress analysis
Assist with analysis and resolution of customer quality issues
Propose suggestions for product improvements
Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional project team, suppliers, and customers.
Deploy state-of-the-art engineering (e.g. Design for Six Sigma) and technical risk management tools
Define technical requirements and track fulfillment
Exemplify Zero Defect mentality by focusing on robust and reliable products and processes
We are sourcing multiple mechanical engineering positions with various specialization. Depending on your engineering specialization , responsibilities may also include:
Process Design: Develop robust (repeatable & reproducible) manufacturing processes; supervising assembly of production machines/tools and ensuring smooth hand-over to global production engineering.
Testing: Executing feasibility, verification, and validation tests; consolidate and evaluate test results; develop & continuously improve test equipment and global procedures.
Electro-Mechanical : Incorporate electronics to develop innovative products and automated manufacturing processes.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Hands-on product development, including use of basic shop equipment and machine tools and 3D printers
Microsoft Office Suite (Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word)
3D-CAD and technical drafting, preferably SolidWorks
Demonstrated drive (energy, determination, motivation) and a can-do mentality
Precise working style with a high commitment to quality
Proven analytical and engineering expertise (Design for Six Sigma, Finite Element Analysis)
Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and negotiate effectively across all levels and all functions of the organization
Ability to explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience
High integrity, fair, emotionally mature, self aware with a high degree of intellectual curiosity
Education / Experience:
3 years experience as R&D Mechanical Engineer, a focus on consumer products and mechanism design is a plus
Higher degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (BSc, MSc) combined with relevant work experience. Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English
