Oakwood Village is Hiring an Occupational Therapist - Per Diem Near Madison, WI

Oakwood Village has an exciting opportunity for qualified candidates to join our Rehabilitation Departments as a Occupational Therapist! Our Occupational Therapist position directs and supervises the occupational therapy programs at our two facilities. Responsibilities include evaluations, assessments, program planning, implementation, follow-up and case management to maximize each resident’s ability to function independently in their activities of daily living. Leadership and Supervision of the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants and Rehabilitation Aides.

The Occupational Therapist is accountable to the Director of Rehabilitations on the West side and East side of Madison campuses. This position will be per diem to cover an increase caseload and potential for part-time position need as well as an as needed basis for vacation/weekend coverage.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess residents’ needs; selects, administers and interprets appropriate evaluation procedures.
  • Supervises the planning and implementation of individual resident occupational therapy programs. Assures treatment programs are modified as needed.
  • Supervises, directs, and mentors, the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants and rehab aides in accordance with WI Practice Act.
  • Serves as a consultant and provides in-services to the facility staff.
  • Works independently with little supervision and is sensitive to the needs of many constituents.
  • Maintains appropriate documentation per regulatory guidelines. Prepares and submits all clinical billing in a timely manner.
  • Ensures representation at resident related meetings as well as various committees as assigned.
  • Ensures adequate inventory of occupational therapy supplies and equipment within budget guidelines.
  • Provides leadership in further development/expansion of occupational therapy services and projects to grow occupational therapy programs for Oakwood.
  • Communicate occupational therapy philosophy and treatment approaches and goals to residents, families, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Meets the annual goals and objectives that are consistent with the values and mission of Oakwood Village and continuous quality improvement.
  • Working knowledge of reimbursement sources for all payors.
  • Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work.
  • Maintains productivity standard.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
  • Exemplifies and maintains professional code of conduct. Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals and relate well to the elderly.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed. Work hours vary, dependent upon patient need and caseload.
  • Ability to maintain and protect confidentiality.
  • Attends required in-services and approved continuing education programs.
  • Working knowledge of windows-based operating systems.
  • Trustworthy, dependable and ethical with willingness to accept feedback and the ability to cooperate with others.
  • Exhibit a desire to work with older adults and have an understanding of the aging process.

  • Working knowledge of reimbursement sources; Medicare A (PPS), Medicare B, Medicaid, and private insurances.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to maintain and protect confidentiality of information.
  • Proficient in Windows-based operating systems.
  • Trustworthy, dependable, and ethical with willingness to accept suggestions and the ability to cooperate.
  • Exhibit a desire to work with older adults and have an understanding of the aging process.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND/ OR TRAINING

  • Graduate of an accredited university with a degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current licensure in the State of Wisconsin.
  • Minimum of two years of experience preferred.
  • Long-term care experience preferred.
