Overview
Security is responsible for ensuring a safe environment and providing customer service for all events and functions of the Owensboro Convention Center and Sportscenter.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $15.00.

Responsibilities

• Provide guest safety and security of the venue assigned with an emphasis on Customer Service.
• Enforce all venue regulations and policies.
• Able to handle large groups of guests
• Able to interact with other staff in a positive and productive manner
• Maintain control of your assigned sections or area.
• Able to adapt to a changing environment
• Perform bag checks and security inspections as directed at required events
• Anticipate and correct any trouble situations in your area
• Know general building information and locations of various amenities
• Ensure areas are safe for patrons and staff.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Able to work in adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc)

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be 18 or older
• Must be friendly, personable. polite, excellent experience in customer service
• Ability to manage high stress fast-paced environment
• Able to work a variety of events including exhibit shows, concerts, conferences, conventions, meetings and banquets
• Must be able to handle adverse situations such as inebriated guests, argumentative guests, volatile-angry guests and related incidents in a calm and professional manner.
• Previous Security experience is preferred, but not required.
