Job Description: Dietary Aide

Job Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for assisting in the preparation and serving of meals to residents in a long-term care facility. The Dietary Aide will work under the direction of the Food Service Director and will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and serving of meals to residents
• Ensure that all food is prepared and served in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and work areas
• Assist in the receiving, storage, and inventory of food and supplies
• Assist in the preparation of special diets as directed by the Food Service Director
• Assist in the setup and cleanup of dining areas
• Assist in the training of new dietary staff as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Food Service Director

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a food service setting preferred
• Ability to read and follow written and oral instructions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
