Oak Harbor Freight Lines is searching for energetic and upbeat individuals to join our team of Delivery Drivers. This position involves safely driving tractor-trailer combination vehicles between Oak Harbor terminals and customer locations. It includes loading and unloading freight, generating sales leads, and providing quality customer service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Responsible for operating equipment and moving freight in a safe and efficient manner using forklift, pallet jack, hand truck, ect.Responsible for noting and recording exception in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claimsResponsible for multiple deliveries to customers while providing high levels of customer service within the Oak Harbor networkMaintain required information throughout the use of electronic devicesManagement of paperwork: i.e. check of accuracy and completion of delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, counting freight, accuracy of hazardous material shipments, special loading and handling instructionsResponsible decision making skills to maximize efficiency while maintaining customer expectationsAbility to meet the Company's reliability standard for employees; to include dependabilityAbility to chain as needed and work in inclement weather required.Availability to work various shifts as needed to accommodate business levelsOther duties as assignedSkills, Experience and Educational RequirementsMust be at least 21 years oldMust possess a Class A CDLAbility to obtain Hazmat, Tanker and Double/ Triples endorsements is requiredExperience driving doubles and/ or triples is preferredMinimum of one-year, verifiable commercial driving experience with similar equipment is preferredValid DOT Medical Certification RequiredHave no record of DUI, Reckless Driving, positive Drug and/or Alcohol screen during the past 3 yearsAbility to use forklift and various equipment needed to load/unload freightMust be familiar with various technologies to perform basic functions of the jobThe ability to communication in a positive, effective manner with customers, co-workers and dispatch/ managersExperience in an LTL operation preferredHave a general familiarity with the delivery area and have the ability to utilize maps is requiredHaving a working knowledge of FMCSA Safety regulations and HOS requirements is requiredBasic English language proficiency (reading, writing and verbal) is required
