Summary of the Position: Under the supervision of the Enterprise Infrastructure Manager, the System Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, applications, and servers. They will install hardware, software, and participate in research and development to continuously improve and keep up with the IT business needs of the organization. The System Administrator also actively resolves problems and issues with computer and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company. The Systems Administrator is responsible for researching and implementing new technologies, developing and following project plans. Roles and Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain systems support for software, hardware, and servers: test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve all related problems
Provide timely technical support for users and work with them to solve existing problems
Utilize best-in-class security protocols to protect existing and new infrastructure systems
Perform systems administration functions for Windows AD Infrastructure, Office 365, software updates and patches, anti-virus, local company systems, cloud hosted company systems and backups
Prepare and maintain written documentation of server and application environments
Regularly works with Sr. Systems Administrators, Sr. Network Administrators, Helpdesk personnel, and company users regarding current and prospective system changes and future needs
Responsible for the maintenance and reliable operation of computer systems, virtual servers, and virtualization environments
Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues
Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
Responsible for assisting with current and future capacity, storage, and database performance
Responsible for the research, recommendation, and implementation of new technologies
Providing timely communication and resolution of project updates and issues escalated from the helpdesk team
Improve business unit synergies through technology systems integration
Support compatibility between systems
Frequent reviewing of all local and cloud hosted system access privileges
Working to automate repetitive system administration jobs
Outlining and implementing authentication measures to increase security but also create SSO environments to ease user authentication challenges
Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:
Working knowledge of networking concepts, Routing / Switching, Operating Systems technologies, cybersecurity technologies, IP, Advanced Protocols, LAN and WAN
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Server versions 2012 to most recent, Microsoft Active Directory, and O365/Exchange
Working knowledge of server and desktop / laptop operating systems - such as Windows Server 2012 to 2022, and desktop / laptop operating systems such as Windows 10 and 11
Strong working knowledge of monitoring and tuning server and network level systems to achieve optimum performance levels
VMware 6.5 experience configuring and managing virtual servers
Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing IT operations best practices, including top-tier knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
Strong interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people in a diverse company community
Excellent and appropriate verbal, phone and written etiquette
Proven ability to follow instructions, work under the direction of a supervisor, and multi-task
Must be reliable and possess good organizational skills, ability to lift, move and inspect computer terminals, servers, switches, routers, printers, and related equipment
Capable of sitting for prolonged periods of time at a computer screen
Works in standard office conditions but may be required to travel to other areas of the building, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) areas to resolve issues or project tasks
Regular onsite attendance is required
Perform other assigned duties and follow verbal and written instructions issued by supervisor or senior level systems administrators / designee related to addressing ongoing projects, immediate issues or outages and overall meeting company goals and objectives
Communicate effectively with the IT team, supervisors and other departments within the organization and function within a team, promoting a positive work environment
Expertise in cost analysis and cost control pertaining to systems in use at the company or being looked at as viable options
Education and Experience:
Associate degree in Computer Science (BS preferred) and/or equivalent technical certification with a minimum of 4 to 5 years of proven System Administrator experience
Industry-recognized technical certification such as a Microsoft MCSE, Network , Server or A preferred but not required
Working technical knowledge and experience with LAN, WAN
Working technical knowledge and experience with Windows desktop and laptop operating systems
Working technical knowledge and experience with Windows Server operating systems and associated services (DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, AD Admin Tools)
Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including hardware RAID, Active Directory, and TCP/IP
Working knowledge of enterprise antivirus and / or next generation security software
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
Able to install, support, and troubleshoot server and PC hardware components and peripherals.
Proven conception to completion experience deploying new systems.
