Salaried/Skilled Trades Careers at NSG Group is Hiring a MECHANICAL ENGINEER Near Shelbyville, IN

Primary Duties:

  • Provide and support a safe working environment for all employees in Shelbyville.
  • Provide and support safe, reliable, ergonomic systems and machines.
  • High level knowledge and support of Automated manufacturing systems.
  • Designs, develops, implements, and modifies production equipment, procedures, and process for cost effective and efficient operations.
  • Ensure equipment and layouts are compliant with current OSHA guidelines.
  • Write detailed technical specifications for projects, equipment, and processes.
  • Resource management and support for maintenance personnel and vendors.
  • System/Project design, costing and implementation from concept to completion to include capital improvement programs
  • Coordinate all project activities to ensure that project timing, quality, and cost targets are attained.
  • Supervise, analyze, and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers, and other technical personnel as required.
  • Design new equipment and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability.
  • To assist in the commissioning of new plant equipment and other systems to ensure that this introduction into the production facility is handled efficiently and with minimum disruption.
  • Conduct equipment training for plant and all other personnel as required
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance to production and maintenance.

. Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to interact with a wide variety of people
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize objectives and targets to meet deadlines
  • Superior computer skills with solid experience with 2D CAD software, preferably AutoCAD
  • Strong project management skills
  • Highly analytical mind, with exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Qualifications Desired:

  • Experience with troubleshooting mechanical systems
  • Able to write clear and comprehensive technical documentation
  • Basic knowledge of control systems
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes
  • Strong analytical, innovative, and strategic competencies
