Job Profile & ObjectivesThe Manager of Business Operations & Strategy will drive and deliver operational support to drive profitable growth for our retail stores. This is a unique opportunity to help us shape and scale our growing brand. In this role, you will identify and deliver optimization processes, service enhancement, workforce planning efficiencies and new growth initiatives to find ways to work smarter, drive profitable store performance and best-in-class customer experience.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Continuously improve operational performance in the business while considering consistency in operational processes and the needs of each store format.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for both corporate and franchise.
  • Lead the operations support team.
  • Partner with senior operations leadership to Influence productivity and implement process improvements.
  • Oversee operations communications, training, standard procedures and compliance.
  • Oversee revenue-generating projects leading and cross-functionally (examples include Guided sales-virtual associate, virtual optician, IRIS omnichannel, ABO).
  • Project manager lead for retail operations.
  • SME for manufacturing distribution and lab partner.
  • Support on revenue growth initiatives including Virtual Optician, Virtual sales, and Dr Refractions.
  • Establish ongoing routines with Regional Management and Operations teams to ensure operational priorities and procedural changes are communicated, understood, and executed consistently.
  • Ensure effective monitoring is in place to track compliance of policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with broader cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Marketing, Creative, and Field Support) to drive operational improvements that create growth in the Retail Outlets P&L.
  • Work with Sr. Director of Operations and the New Store Opening teams to plan for store team to execute store Opening procedures.
  • Participate in meetings with supervisor, cross-functional teams, and department heads; direct and coordinate activities within the department for further attainment of goals and objectives.
  • Remain effective in a changing environment and manage change. Adjusts team priorities to meet goals and commitments, ensures continued alignment across the business process, and responds effectively to constantly changing demands.
  • Anticipate opportunities/risks and develop effective responses and action plans.
  • Identify trends and opportunities to define changes in process and procedures that drive store operations and sales.
  • Other duties as assigned and required.
Communications
  • Develop, lead and supervise retail operations communication strategy, working to streamline the amount of information/ tasks sent to stores.
  • Drive an efficient communications strategy that enables stores to deliver against strategic and financial objectives.
  • Create and maintain a Retail Communications Portal, Library, etc. with all relevant operational content. Ensure it is up to date, accessible and available.
  • Create Upper Field Leadership communication strategy, including creation of specific tools and resources for this audience.
  • Develop all messaging, speeches and talking points for key Retail Leaders, including SVP and RVPs.
  • Work closely with Field Leadership Team to provide communications counsel across a variety of levels and topics.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, communications, training or related field.
  • 5 years of overall operational experience.
  • 3 years in retail experience with focus on operations management in a multi-store retail environment.
  • Optical experience is a plus
Skills & Requirements
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and be flexible with changing business needs in a team environment.
  • Strong ability to analyze data, develop meaningful action plans, and clearly communicate to management is required.
  • Effectively manage several competing priorities, within a short timeframe.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse, multifunctional group of people.
  • Collaborative approach in daily interactions with internal and external parties..
  • Self-starter. Proactively engage stakeholders to drive action and solutions.
  • Business curious; high desire to learn and understand the business.
  • A high level of proficiency with all pertinent PC software is required; fluent in Excel, Word, Power Point, Microsoft Outlook Suite
