Job Summary:
We are seeking an Operations Manager to assist in building an asphalt repair and maintenance business throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area. As the Operations Manager you will oversee all day-to-day functions of executing a wide variety of asphalt and concrete repair projects for our clients and will lead a team of technicians to perform pavement maintenance services.
Our Operations Manager will manage crews, oversee scheduling and will be responsible for the execution of day-to-day operational activities. The ideal candidate will have the ability to grow with the business and be afforded long term career growth and related opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations and execution of client projects
Plan, schedule, and facilitate crews for production of high-quality projects
Manage materials procurement, inventory, and resource allocation
Maintain budgets and optimize expenses
Ensure equipment and warehouse is well maintained and ready at all times
Lead employees and ensure they work productively and develop professionally
Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
Direct the employee assessment process
Manage data collection to track metrics related to productivity targets, reducing cost per unit, eliminating errors, and delivering excellent customer service
Develop operations related plans, budgets, policies and procedures
Communicate job status daily with business leadership
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as an operations leader or similar role
Strong skills in estimating, budget development and oversight
Demonstrated project management experience
Excellent ability to delegate responsibilities while maintaining organizational control of branch operations and customer service
Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes
Past experience with small engines like lawnmowers and/or paint sprayers
Knowledge and/or aptitude to learn how to use business productivity software
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
Paving, line striping, sealcoating, concrete, or epoxy flooring experience
Experience in commercial B-to-B services
Strong working knowledge of business processes and functions (e.g. finance, HR, procurement, operations, quality, complaint handling and resolution, etc.)
An education background in Construction or Engineering is an asset
Ability to communicate in more than one language
