Staff Accountant - Construction / Development Firm

Salary: Up to $70,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of financial processes, including but not limited to, maintaining financial records, preparing budgets, conducting audits, and managing payroll. This role requires a keen attention to detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to communicate financial information effectively.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain and reconcile ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
2. Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports.
3. Conduct monthly and yearly closings and prepare for audits.
4. Process payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable in a timely manner.
5. Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities.
6. Provide financial analysis and reports to management as needed.
7. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
8. Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions to enhance the company's financial performance and business operations.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction or real estate industry.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
