Position Purpose:
To manage all aspects of materials inventory within the hospital.Utilizing management procedures as established by the Corporation.Using independent judgment, discretion, and initiative in carrying out the Materiel's Management function with general supervision provided by the hospital Chief Financial Officer.
Directing the work force of numerous hospital employees engaged in material management activities.Reviews request for equipment, supplies, building materials, and other items to assure that requisitions meet with purchasing policies.Analyzes market conditions and statistical data.Interviews vendors and monitors purchasing trends.Consults with department managers to determine quality effectiveness and durability of products purchased.Reviews and signs all purchase orders. Direction and leadership of employees, instructing them in all aspects of Materiel's Management.The planning and arrangement of product evaluations and demonstrations.Oversees the implementation of new programs for the HMS Materials Management System.Directs personnel in continuing education and training plans.Reviews corporate contracts and implements for hospital wide compliance.Responsible for department budget, employee time sheets and job descriptions.Conducts semi annual inventory counts and presents a spreadsheet of the results to the C.F.O.
