Details:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team in Cd'A, Idaho. The Medical Biller will be responsible for accurately billing & coding medical procedures, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and keying patient demographics, charges and payments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing systems, coding practices, and medical terminology.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Review and verify patient information and medical records for accuracy
- Assign appropriate codes to medical procedures using ICD-9 or ICD-10 coding systems
- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resubmit as necessary
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues or discrepancies
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Update patient accounts with accurate billing information and payment records
- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding
- Stay up-to-date with changes in medical coding guidelines and reimbursement policies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Medical Billing preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
- Proficient in medical coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with medical billing software and electronic health records systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
