Job Duties:

• Draft pleads, motions and appellate documents, and file them with the court
• Respond timely to discovery requests
• Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc.)
• Prepare and file documents with state and federal courts
• Review, summarize and organize medical records
• Gather and organize documents for discovery responses
• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
• Maintain pleads and discovery indexes
• Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
• Draft correspondence and regularly communicate with clients, experts, and defense counsel in an effective and courteous manner
• Assist with pre-trial preparation, including drafting trial documents and preparing exhibits
• Conduct pre-claim investigation, legal research, and initial case assessments
• Assist with case settlements
• Other typical paralegal duties include communicating with adjusters, attorneys, medical providers, experts and the courts, drafting correspondence and pushing cases forward in the process. Additionally, a litigation paralegal will attend certain trials to provide paralegal support

Required Experience & Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in personal injury litigation
• Knowledge of Texas Civil Procedure and Local Court Rules
• Excellent verbal, written, and time management skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Great time management and multi-tasking skills
• Able to act independently and with minimal supervision
• Must be organized, detail-oriented and a self-starter
• Proficient and experienced using paperless case management systems
