Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office is testing to establish an Eligibility List for Dispatcher positions:
Dispatchers, under the supervision of the Dispatch Supervisor or Administrative Lieutenant, participate in transmitting emergency voice radio messages, telephone, teletype and automatic alarm communications. Responsible for dispatching required equipment and personnel in accordance with standard policies and procedures; maintaining records; and related work as required. Duties include: Receive incoming service requests by telephone on 911 emergency and business lines; obtain information on the nature of the request. Dispatch personnel and equipment according to standard operational procedures, instructions from a supervisor or by individual judgment as required. Take reports and relays information by radio or telephone; maintains a CAD log of radio calls received and transmitted. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other agency employees and the public using principles of good customer service. Starting wage is $18.31/hr, with excellent benefits. Minimum qualifications: High school graduate/equivalent; 21 years of age; skilled in clerical work and ability to keyboard at least 45 wpm, computer literate, experience with radio transmitters and teletype desirable, ability to work all shifts; and pass a stringent criminal background check, polygraph and psych exam.
