Duties and Responsibilities:Customer Service -Proactively engage and make a connection with customers. -Asking questions and listening to customer s needs. -Directing customers to merchandiseinforming them about upcoming eventspromotionsmobile offersSTAR card. -Provide premier customer service -Cooperate and build positiveinclusive and respectful relationshipstake accountability for your own actions and outcomes.Organization -Maintaining store appearance.Sales -Cross-selling products and knowing layout of the store. -Make suggestions to customer on latest trends and current promotions based on customer s individual needs. -Upselling products -Learning product featureskeeping up with the latest trendsleveraging company tools and technology to confidently provide the customer with product knowledge specs. -Using a Point-of-Sales systemprocessing cash exchangesdiscountsgift cardscredit cardsdebit cardscash handlingincluding counting money and returning accurate amounts to customer. -Completing various forms of paperworkreportsand reconciliationInventory -Be the keeper of merchandisecomplete all inventory processes and make sure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.May participate in periodic inventories-Responsible for the security of cashfixed assets and merchandise inventory. -Providing direction on assignments including prioritizing projects tasksmanaging merchandise and inventory.Dependability -Adherence to assigned work schedule. Accurate and complete follow through on work assignments.Supervisory Requirements -Provides effective leadershipdemonstrates ability to directtrain and motivate associatessets a positive example.Responsible for providing coaching and feedback timely and professionally. Provide directionwork assignmentstraining to sales associatesprovide input to Department Manager on associate performance.May open close locations.-Other Duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS Product Knowledge Moderate level of knowledge of products merchandise Provide training documentation to sales associates on product featuresExperience 1-2 years of Retail or relevant work experience required1 year of lead or supervisory experience preferred.Communication SkillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to readwriteand interpret instructional documents such as safety rulesoperating and maintenance instructionsand procedure manuals.Ability to effectively communicate with customerspeersand management.Ability to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette.Mathematical SkillsBasic math functions such as additionsubtractionmultiplicationand division.Ability to use a calculator and calculate percentages and ratios.Must be able to make change in American monetary units.Reasoning Ability Ability to multi-taskwhile being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to the needs of the business.Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.Ability to defuse escalated exchanges and create win win situation.PHYSICAL DEMANDS WORK ENVIRONMENT This position involves constant movingtalkinghearingreachinggrabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours.May occasionally involve stoopingkneelingcrouchingand climbing ladders.Vision abilities include close visioncolor visiondepth perceptionand ability to adjust focus.Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50lbs in some departments.Work typically performed indoorsbut may be assigned outdoors depending upon location.OTHER SKILLS Enthusiasticfriendlyand energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.WORK HOURS Available to work a variety of hourswhich may include early morningseveningsweekends and holidays.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE1 year responsible experience in clericaloffice or retail sales store work of any kind in which the applicant has demonstrated the ability to perform satisfactorily in the position to be filled.ANDSPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE1 year progressively responsible experience in retail sales performing the kind of duties which constitute the principal work of the position to be filled.SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCEStudy completed in a collegeuniversityor junior college above the high school level may be substituted on the basis of one-half academic year of study for 6 months of experience.At any levelspecialized experience may be substituted for required general experience.Candidates must have demonstrated in their work experience or training that they possessor have potential to develop the qualities of successful supervision.
