We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager with a strong civil/highway background to work as part of the $19.5 billion JFK Redevelopment Program. The ideal candidate with work on multiple civil/highway projects as a leader within project management teams on this high-profile project.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBLITIES

• Acts as the client’s agent in delivering project management services in the areas of strategic planning, design management, procurement/contract management, construction oversight, project closeout and acceptance, and operations/maintenance;
• Routinely resolves difficult issues of significant financial impact, assessing and managing risk on behalf of the client;
• Interacts with senior government or public officials and/or clients on significant program matters often requiring coordination between organizations. Agencies include PANYNJ, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDEP, NYCDDC, FAA;
• Chairing interagency coordination meetings, tracking action items and issues tore solution;
• Oversight and coordination of complex roadway project staging and schedules among internal / external projects to ensure smooth delivery;
• Responsible for defining staffing needs for the delivery of projects, providing direction and oversight to project managers, client staff and consultants;
• Has an awareness and understanding of the political environment and sensitivities in which a program is being delivered;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management or related discipline;
• Experience working with PANYNJ, NYSDOT and NYCDOT agencies and their processes;
• Previous direct management and oversight of multiple project managers;
• 10 years relevant experience;
• 13 years combination of a) proven program mgmt. and/or senior PMC role, b) managing or leading a team in successful delivery of PMC projects;
• Aviation experience, large Aviation programs ($500M ) preferred;
• Roadway and/or Traffic Planning experience;
• New York or New Jersey PE or ability to obtain by reciprocity.
