The New Jersey Institute for Disabilities (NJID) is one of the largest not-for-profit agencies of its kind in the nation providing services to infants, children and adults with developmental and related disabilities. NJID offers specialized facilities, programs and supports throughout New Jersey. Come join our dedicated staff of more than 500 and make a difference in someone's life!
We are currently hiring a Behavior Specialist to oversee the behavioral needs of individuals with intellectual, developmental, and related disabilities in a residential and day program setting.
Job Responsibilities of a Behavior Specialist:

Oversees the behavior needs of individuals approaches in one or more designated programs, such as Residential Services and Day Programs

Identifies target behavior, creates client-centered behavior support plans, ensures proper implementation of behavior support plans & designs data collection

Researches interventions while ensuring best practice techniques

Conducts assessments, including functional and reinforcer assessments

Completes accurate and timely documentation of services

Works collaboratively to ensure effective service delivery
• Attends and facilitates team meetings and training
• Participates in weekly supervision requirements
• Travel required to multiple locations as required
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in applied behavioral analysis, psychology, special education, social work, public health counseling, or a similar degree under the supervision of a BCBA -OR
• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)-OR
• NADD Competency-Based Clinical Certification from the National Association for the dually Diagnosed -OR
• Master's degree and the completion of requisite coursework from a BACB-approved course sequence program - AND
• At least two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
• Understands the behavioral characteristics typically associated with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or mental health diagnosis
• Complete Applied Positive Behavior Supports training
• Maintain Level III Crisis Management Training Certification
• Receive ongoing supervision by the Board Certified Behavior Analyst for a minimum of 5% of the hours spent providing applied behavior analytic services per month
• Have four (4) supervisory contact meetings with the Behavior Analyst in-person or via web meeting each month
• Abide by the BACB's Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts
• Valid Driver's License
• Must be able to use Microsoft Office, emails, web browsers, search engines, and electronic health records efficiently
