POSITION SUMMARY:

Maintain, repair, install, and oversee equipment and structures to ensure a safe, consistent, and effective quality work environment, and other Facilities duties as assigned by Group Manager at the Nestle Nutrition Fremont site. Works closely with other Maintenance Technicians, providing training, coaching, and guidance in areas of expertise, for the purpose of building the overall capability of the Maintenance group. This position eliminates the need for typical repairs and installations performed by contractors. (cost savings).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Facilities Activities

  • Maintain, install and/or repair facilities and related equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on facilities and equipment.
  • Contain and correct emergency situations with minimal damage on a 24-hour per day basis.
  • Manage facility equipment through building management system.
  • Schedule and prioritize workload and maintain work records on equipment.
  • Attend necessary equipment / systems training to maintain or gain knowledge of ammonia refrigeration, electrical, H.V.A.C., general mechanical, plumbing, and building management systems.
  • Utilizes technical materials such as equipment manuals, SDS, safety materials, system and equipment drawings, Process and Instrument Diagrams (PID's), schematics, and blueprints to troubleshoot and maintain systems.
  • Cross train within maintenance fields.
  • Perform duties associated with area relocations.
  • Complete agreed-upon specific objectives for this position and the fiscal year and submit to the Maintenance & Facilities Planning Manager.
  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Maintain documentation according to Nestle standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

Associate degree a plus

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years of general maintenance experience; experience in Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC systems maintenance preferred.

SKILLS:

* Ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organization; mentor/coach people when necessary.

* Effective reading, writing, communication, and computer skills.

* Ability to obtain necessary certifications / licenses.

* Sound problem-solving skills both as an individual and group.

* Proficient in the use of Hand Tools and Basic Power Tools (electrical and pneumatic).

* Knowledge of Card Access, CCTV, and Building Management Systems a plus.

* Experience in Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC systems maintenance preferred.
