Description
-Responsible for establishing and maintaining Standard Work to support the GED Production System.
-Develop training programs and train associates, both existing and new, on manufacturing processes and standard work.
-Coordinate with the Quality Manager and the Operations Manager(s) to perform audits of:
- Defined processes
- Standard work
- Standard Hours
- Engineering and Mfg.
- BOM Accuracy
- Drawing Accuracy
- QIP's and QTP's
-Implement ECN's into the Manufacturing Operations.
•Verify routers are created
•Effect Standard Work as required
•Effect defined processes
•Effect Standard hours
•Update Manufacturing BOM's
-Function as liaison between Product Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to provide effective communication regarding engineering support requirements.
-Function as liaison between Development Engineering and Manufacturing Operations to ensure new development projects are conforming to existing standards where possible and ensure design teams utilize DFM philosophies.
-Design and Implement fixtures and special tooling as required.
-Implement Flow Manufacturing principles where applicable in support of GED Production System.
-Coordinate all engineering releases and changes relative to routings, setting standards, data entry and follow-up.
-Develop processes, best methods, tooling and production controls for the manufacture of new and existing GED machinery. This includes preparing manufacturing work instructions.
-Determine and review all manufacturing processes for cost effectiveness and feasibility, both before and after engineering releases to manufacturing.
-Determine priorities with QA and Manufacturing Managers to implement cost reduction projects; maintain all detailed documentation as required.
-Design and implement manufacturing methods and processes that support quality and quantity goals and objectives.
-Review and recommend changes to mechanical/assembly/electrical drawings and all supporting process documentation.
Requirements
•Minimum 2-year degree in Engineering related discipline from accredited School or University.
•Minimum 3 years' experience within a Manufacturing or Process Engineering position.
•Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Philosophies, Kaizen, TPM, ISO, Six Sigma
•Skilled in the use of computers including CAD, CAM, Windows, MS Office.
•Solid communication skills, both Oral and Written. Possess the ability to interact with multiple disciplines.
•Working knowledge of basic measuring instruments.
•Thorough understanding and interpretation of Mechanical and Electrical Schematics and Drawings.
