Material Handler
Material Handler needed on 1st shift in Painesville working from 6am-2 : 30pm. $17-$18 Pay is based upon experience.
General Summary : Perform tasks to company safety standards. Responsible for transporting materials, supplies, and finished products to designated locations.
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
- Prepares and maintains records of materials received and moved including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
- Reviews materials for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
- Confirms traveler details or special instructions; expedites materials that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
- Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and / or using hand trucks and skids).
- When problems or questions arise, resolves issues with Inventory Control Supervisor.
- Validates, approves, and forwards invoices to inventory department.
- Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
- Packs nuts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Experience operating lift truck and overhead crane.
- Good math and written communication skills.
- Efficient time management skills.
Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two years of related work experience required.
Physical Requirements :
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must wear protective PPE, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hearing protection where required.
- Able to work in varying kinds of weather conditions.
