Flagship Facility Services, Inc. is Hiring a Human Resources Business Partner Near Fremont, CA

Flagship is looking for a results-oriented exempt level Human Resources professional to work out of our Fremont location as well as be responsible for coverage in Sunnyvale and San Francisco for our culinary division working at one of the top Social Media companies in the world.

The successful candidate will possess solid Human Resource skill sets and ideally have service industry experience. The person holding this key position must be an effective business partner with strong collaboration, planning, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills who has demonstrated the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and projects in an extremely fast-paced environment. The desired candidate will have a successful track record as a Generalist including strengths in employee relations. Essential Functions

  • Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units.
  • Consult with line management providing HR guidance when appropriate.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Partner with legal department as needed/required.
  • Provides day to day performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR Policy guidance and interpretation. Develop contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers.
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, succession planning.
  • Identify training needs for business units and individual executive coaching needs.
  • Participate in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs.
  • Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met. Conducts new employee orientations; administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference checks and background checks.
  • Implement and administer the company’s human resources policies and practices.
  • Establish and maintain both paper and electronic employee files/information.
  • Assist to ensure that employee relations issues, including the investigation and resolution of employee complaints, are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Coordinates with Benefits Analyst to facilitate benefits enrollment and changes for eligible employees.
  • Assist with and conduct supervisory/management and employee training programs, as needed.
  • Assist with the response to all Unemployment and EEOC claims.
  • Assist with and conducts exit interviews.
  • Lead and/or facilitate supervisor/manager and employee meetings when appropriate.
  • Assist to ensure that safety, workers compensation, and other risk management programs and procedures are fulfilled in an effective, legally compliant, and timely manner.
  • Develop and nurture effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including those at Corporate and other regions.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Extensive knowledge and practical application of Federal, and local employment laws with a solid understanding of the general body of knowledge surrounding HR.
  • Ability to work independently, resourcefully, and flexibly.
  • Excellent interpersonal, persuasive, written/verbal communication, planning, organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound judgment and decision-making skills. High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to effectively multi-task in a fast and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent client management and business literacy skills.
  • Manage multiple business units in multiple locations. Manage multiple conflicting priorities.
  • Develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
  • Effectively envision, develop, and implement new strategies to address competitive, complex business issues.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent education and/or experience. HR certification a plus.
  • 1-2 years experience working with Unions and Collective bargaining agreements required
  • A minimum of 3-5 years customer-centric, business-aligned, operationally-oriented Human Resources Business Partner experience.
  • Service industry experience preferred.
  • Two or more years of high volume recruitment experience for hourly employees.
  • Project hires for new accounts, start-ups, expansions preferred.

Work Environment

Small-to-large office environment Fast paced office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposed to a combination of normal office type environments and shop environments. Regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk or hear. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, climbing and occasionally lifting of a minimum of 40 lbs. of office or facilities equipment. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
