Roberts Wesleyan College is Hiring a Campus Safety Officer Near Rochester, NY

The Campus Safety Office seeks a full-time Campus Safety Officer to help maintain a safe and secure campus where students, faculty, staff and visitors feel welcome and secure. This position is an overnight shift.
Candidates must be able and willing to respond to emergencies and take charge until relieved by a supervisor or until the situation is over, respond to suspicious activity reports, reports of crimes, respond to jump-starts for vehicles and room lockouts. Responsibilities include notifying appropriate off-campus personnel as per department policy; notifying proper campus authorities per standard operating procedures and direction of supervisor; performing routine safety and security patrols of campus; enforcing parking and traffic regulations by issuing tickets to violators; directing traffic and parking cars at special events; and performing other duties as assigned.
The approved salary for this position is $15.50 - $17.50/hour. Competitive salary is negotiable based on experience, skills, qualifications, education & training requirements.
Requirements
The successful candidate must maintain a valid NYS driver's license and a clean driving record as defined by college policy, a NYS security guard license; advanced first aid certification and CPR certification is required; associates degree in Criminal Justice or a related field is preferred. Law enforcement experience as a deputy sheriff or police officer strongly preferred. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate cultural competence and must value the principles of diversity and equity.
