Position Summary

Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer (CIO), this position performs much of the deployment, management, support, and maintenance of IT resources at MCDC’s dental and administrative offices. The Information Technology Analyst (ITA) participates in the planning and implementation of network and system infrastructure, including configuration and installation of necessary hardware. The ITA is also responsible for assisting in the organization and support of the Dental Practice Management software.

Responsibilities

Typical Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Work with staff and third party consultants as needed for installation, configuration, and maintenance of desktops, laptops, peripheral equipment, and software – complying with given standards and guidelines and ensuring proper access is assigned
  • Familiarize end users on basic software/ hardware operation and usage
  • Ensure that standards for support documentation are set and controlled
  • Assist with hardware and application support queries and issues reported to the IT Help Desk
  • Provide on-call support and adhere to a flexible schedule as needed
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems associated with network connectivity, workstations hardware/ software, and other peripheral equipment
  • Maintain accurate asset and inventory records on the IT Infrastructure
  • Responsible for order/ cleanliness of all relevant server/ network closets
  • Arrange for and/or prepare computer equipment for deployment
  • Deploy technology equipment for new office deployments, relocations, or refresh events
  • Conduct research in support of procurement and development efforts
  • Assist in support and testing of new application deployments and systems
  • Maintain highest standards of honesty and integrity
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee, customer and corporate information
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Job Specification

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent
  • Three to five years’ experience supporting staff in the use of computer tools
  • Must possess above average knowledge/experience using a computer and software, specifically Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel, Word & Outlook
  • Knowledge of data networks, VoIP, security best practices, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and/or Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician (MCDST) a plus
  • Working knowledge/ experience with SQL and SIP a plus
  • Experience in a Health Care environment and familiarity with HIPAA preferred
