Job Description

MWH Constructors , a global leader in heavy civil construction of water and wastewater facilities, is seeking a Project Executive to support and lead semiconductor/advanced manufacturing construction projects in the Phoenix, AZ area.

The Project Executive will provide leadership, strategy and direction in support of existing and future project operations to include making decisions and recommendations that can greatly affect profitability of regional operations. Projects may be either integrated project delivery such as CM-at-Risk or Design-Build, or traditional Design-Bid-Build and range in size from $20-200 million dollars in size.

Essential Functions

  • Establish objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards for project operations, within the boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Support District Director, Operational/Regional Managers with business development, client relations, marketing, pursuit and project bid activities.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of Project Managers to ensure the project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contracts, to facilitate preconstruction and construction activities.
  • Monitor financial aspects of contracts (e.g. fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.)
  • Work with District Director, Operational/Regional Managers, and Project Managers to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationships with clients.
  • Ensure that all projects executed by staff incorporate the project planning techniques prescribed by the Management Administration Plan. Provide appropriate input and review as required.
  • Be accountable for ensuring projects are staffed with the appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives within the company profit model.
  • Be an integral part of the risk management process and reviews.
  • Work closely with all members of the leadership team, including all support functions (Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, etc.)
  • Ensure all employees follow safe work practices and use company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related degree.
  • Minimum 15 years' relevant management experience or equivalent skills and experience; demonstrated successful performance on complex and/or large projects, typically $100-400 million dollars in size.
  • Minimum 6 years of management experience with profit and loss responsibility on an assigned project(s).
  • Background in water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Results-oriented professional with proven ability to develop effective strategies, set target goals, and execute plans to meet financial and organization objectives.
  • Understanding of how to mitigate commercial risk to enhance opportunities for successful business and project performance.
  • Must have integrity and strong sense of ethical standards with a reputation of conducting business fairly and honestly.
  • Strong executive presence and personnel management skills with the ability to set direction, align, and motivate others to achieve excellence.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral; will be required to conduct presentations.
  • Effective computer skills including project management, spreadsheets, CMIC, and presentation software.
  • A strong record of safety and a commitment to the value of safety measures.

Preferred Specifications

  • Design Build Professional (DBIA) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
  • Prior related semiconductor/advanced manufacturing and construction experience.
  • Leading the planning, execution, and closure of projects within the cleanroom and tool install domain, specialization in overseeing cleanroom and tool installation projects amongst other projects.
