Touchmark in the West Hills is Portlands leading resort-style retirement community enriching the lives of residents and their families through five-star hospitality, services, and amenities. We are currently seeking a wellness-obsessed individual to join our growing team as a **Personal Trainer and** **Member Services for our Health and Fitness Club.**

This position will spend half of his/her time as a Personal Trainer and half of his/her time as the Member Services representative.

As a ***Personal Trainer*** with Touchmark, you will enrich lives each day by assisting, monitoring, and instructing residents in the safe and effective use of equipment and weight machines in order to meet their personal fitness goals and needs. You will also conduct fitness consultations and assessments in order to help develop individualized fitness programs that ensure resident safety and follow each resident's care plan. Experience personal training seniors and promoting/selling training is a must youll be conducting club tours for potential members, residents, and guests, and explaining the benefits of membership, in order to build your client base.

As a M***ember Services Representative***, you will enrich lives each day by warmly welcoming and directing all incoming members and guests, as well as serving as a go-to person for fitness club members, residents, guests, and team members who have questions or need assistance. In addition to providing excellent hospitality to club members and visitors over the telephone and at the Member Services desk, our team of Member Services Representative is also responsible for duties such as ensuring that the fitness equipment, locker rooms, and aquatic center are exceptionally clean and safe; testing the chemical levels in the pool and spa on a regular basis; conduct personal training/fitness classes; and providing towel/laundry service.

Club membership is open to Touchmark residents, as well as adults in the greater community aged 50 and over, and members enjoy a wide range of activities and classes that can positively affect age-related conditions and encourage lifelong health and wellness. All programs are tailored to individual levels of ability, skill, and personal fitness goals. A long list of amenities are also offered, including an indoor heated pool, a group exercise studio, one-on-one personal training, a fully-equipped fitness studio, and a NeuroCom Balance Master system.

The ideal candidate will:

* Have a commitment to Touchmarks values (hospitality, compassion, excellence, teamwork, and integrity), as well as a desire to model these values and to encourage others to be allies, friends, and givers

* **Current personal training certification through a NCCA accredited organization is required**

* A bachelors degree in an exercise science-related discipline

* Have at least one (1) year of experience as a receptionist or administrative assistant in a busy setting, or similar experience in a customer service or hospitality position

* Be comfortable answering phones while greeting and providing information to members

* Be excellent at handling multiple tasks simultaneously

* At least five years experience working as a Certified Personal Trainer or Exercise Physiologist

* At least five years experience working with a mature population

* At least five years experience in consultative sales (preferred)

* Experience instructing group exercise classes in the format their certification is in

* A positive, upbeat, and energetic approach to health, wellness, teamwork, and hospitality

* Current CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or be willing to obtain upon hire

* Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and basic office equipment

* Be able to maintain patient and tactful composure when dealing with residents, family members, staff members and visitors
