The Finishing Lead is to perform a variety of duties to set up and operate machines used in the post print label finishing process.Experience is not required but always a bonus.

Responsibilities:
  • Operates and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Sets up, runs, and cleans up all equipment and processes at or above posted productivity and quality standards.
  • Assists in planning and/or scheduling new jobs and/or creating new processes.
  • Improves processes by recommending materials, equipment, and methods.
  • Maximizes production by anticipating and planning changeovers.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve performance to standards for productivity, material usage, and quality.
  • Interprets, refines, and updates job specs and other production data.
  • Trains personnel on operating equipment.
  • Accepts responsibilities given by shift leadership.
  • Troubleshoots technical issues with minimal supervision.
  • Interacts effectively with all shifts.
  • Communicates effectively at all levels of the company both verbally and in writing.
  • Calculates rates and establishes production goals.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and supports management directives and goals.
  • Practices effective safety behaviors and corrects potential safety hazards.
  • Maintains and wears all P.P.E. as required.
  • Fills in for any absent operator as needed
  • Support Safety First culture by actively participating in New Hire Safety Subcommittee.
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to work overtime as required.
  • Other projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient use of MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of all inspection paperwork and identification of products.
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently set up and run the following types of equipment, with a minimum of six months experience on each:
  • Majority of the high-speed rewind equipment.
  • Majority of the standard rewind equipment.
  • Majority of the die rewind equipment.
  • Majority of the tabletop rewinders.
  • Certified to run the majority of the products.
  • Must be familiar with using computers.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to train others to be effective inspectors.
  • Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Understand the inspection paperwork and processes.
Safety and Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Good motor coordination and manual dexterity skills.
  • Corrected visual acuity.
  • Accurate color determination skills.
