CASHIER (PART-TIME)
REPORTS TO: ASSITANT RECREATION DIRECTOR, ASSISTANT FACILITY MANAGER AND FACILITIES ASSISTANT
NATURE OF WORK
This part time seasonal position works at the Recreation Center admission areas performing admission, registration, and customer service functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Greets and assists the public.
· Answers phone calls and provides information.
· Manages admissions to facilities through appropriate admission policies and procedures.
· Handles registrations, admissions including cash, check, and credit card payments through a point-of-sale system.
· Balances the daily transactions.
· Manages the daily facilities schedule.
· Operates sound system and makes announcements.
· Responds to emergency situations.
· Assists with special events as needed.
· Maintains regular and punctual attendance.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs all other work as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
Ability to quickly learn athletic scheduling software.
Able to function under pressure.
Knowledge of common computer programs and office machines, including Microsoft Office.
Ability to work various schedules including weekends and evenings.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma/G.E.D. or currently enrolled in High School
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical Demands: Hearing, seeing (close up and distance), standing, sitting, bending, hand movements, holding, lifting (10 lbs.) waving arms, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, and feeling. Understand the speech of another person. Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
Mental demands: Maintain accurate registration details and financial transactions. Concentration on ice surface and rink areas. Decisions on proper behavior relative to facility rules. Able to respond in emergency and high-stress situations.
